Over the years, the Atlanta Braves organization and its loyal fan base have mourned the passing of a few beloved broadcasting voices who left an indelible mark on the franchise's history. Among the most iconic figures was legendary Hall of Fame broadcaster Pete Van Wieren, affectionately known as "Professor," who spent decades as a cornerstone of the Braves' radio and television broadcast teams during the historic SuperStation TBS era, calling thousands of games alongside Skip Caray and Ernie Johnson. More recently, the organization and fans suffered another profound loss with the sudden passing of Casey Motter, who served as the beloved public address announcer and the iconic "Voice of Truist Park", delighting fans with his signature introductions and deep passion for the team.
