There is currently no acute global shortage of cobalt, as worldwide production capacity from major mining operations and processing facilities comfortably meets or exceeds immediate industrial consumption rates. Although past years experienced localized supply crunches driven by logistical bottlenecks and shipping delays, current inventories managed by producers and downstream consumers remain sufficient. Strategic efforts by battery manufacturers to diversify material sourcing, coupled with the rising prominence of recycling programs and alternative chemical formulations, have successfully mitigated the risk of sudden, crippling physical shortages in the global supply chain.
