Is there a reset button on a Rheem AC unit, there is no dedicated red reset button like oil furnace, but there are reset methods using power disconnect and high pressure switch that acts as reset. For Rheem outdoor AC unit like RA14 and RA16, there is no external reset button on cabinet. To reset Rheem AC to clear error and control glitch: first, turn off thermostat to off, second, turn off power to outdoor unit at disconnect box mounted on wall near outdoor unit that has pull-out block or breaker, and turn off power to indoor furnace or air handler at switch on side and breaker at panel, wait at least 30 seconds to 1 minute to allow control board capacitors to discharge and clear memory, turn power back on to indoor then outdoor, set thermostat to cool and 5 degrees below room temperature, outdoor unit should start after 5-minute delay built into thermostat to protect compressor. For high pressure reset: if outdoor unit tripped on high pressure due to dirty coil or dirty filter causing high head pressure, there is high pressure switch inside unit that must be manually reset on some older Rheem models by pressing small red button inside electrical compartment, but most newer models auto-reset after pressure drops. Also, furnace has rollout and high limit switches with red buttons inside burner compartment that can be pressed. If unit repeatedly trips, do not keep resetting, call technician as it indicates low refrigerant or dirty coil.
