There is no dedicated physical reset button on a Maytag commercial washer like a small red button you press, but you can reset it through power cycling and control panel sequences similar to residential Maytag washers. Maytag commercial washers like MVWP586GW and MAT20CS are made by Whirlpool Corporation and use simple mechanical or basic electronic controls designed for laundromat use. To reset commercial washer, first stop any running cycle by turning cycle selector to Off or pressing Stop button. Second, unplug washer from wall outlet or turn off circuit breaker that supplies it, wait at least 5 to 10 minutes to allow control board capacitors to fully discharge and clear error codes like F7E5 or F9E1 and volatile memory. Third, plug back in and washer will beep and may show PF for power failure, turn selector to clear. For models with electronic display, you can also enter diagnostic mode by turning selector 3 clicks clockwise, 1 counterclockwise, 1 clockwise within 8 seconds, all lights flash, then press Start to run test and clear codes. For coin-operated commercial models, resetting may require opening service door with key and pressing reset switch inside. A reset clears electronic glitches but does not fix mechanical failures like clogged drain pump or broken belt that need part replacement. Always check manual for your specific model as reset procedure varies slightly.
