There is no massive current CPSC mandatory recall for all LG microwaves in 2026, but there have been past recalls and safety notices for specific models. The most significant recall was for LG over-the-range microwaves manufactured between 2015 and 2018, models LMV2031ST, LMV2031BD, and LMV2055ST, where the mounting bracket could fail or the microwave could overheat if installed improperly, posing a risk of the unit detaching from the wall and falling. LG offered free in-home inspection and reinforcement kit installation. Another smaller service bulletin involved LG countertop microwaves with Smart Inverter where the door interlock switch could wear prematurely and cause the microwave to not start or to run with door open indicator, and LG extended warranty for free switch replacement. In 2023, there was also a voluntary recall for some LG Studio built-in microwave and wall oven combination units where the microwave door glass could overheat and crack due to insufficient ventilation clearance. To check if your LG microwave is affected, locate the model and serial number on the inside of the door or back of unit and enter it on LG's official recall lookup at lg.com/us/support or at cpsc.gov/Recalls, or call LG customer support at 1-800-243-0000. Always register your microwave to receive recall notifications and ensure proper installation clearance per manual.
