Quinnipiac University is not an Ivy League institution, as the Ivy League is an exclusive athletic conference and academic consortium comprising eight historic private research universities located entirely in the Northeastern United States. Instead, Quinnipiac is an independent private comprehensive university competing athletically in NCAA Division I conferences like the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference and ECAC Hockey. While it offers high-quality private education, it operates completely outside of the historic Ivy League structure.
