King Digital Entertainment is no longer an independent publicly traded entity listed on any public stock exchange under its former ticker symbol. The company initially completed an initial public offering on the New York Stock Exchange, but its status changed dramatically after it was acquired in a multi-billion dollar cash transaction by Activision Blizzard. Subsequently, following the massive corporate merger and integration of Activision Blizzard into Microsoft, King became an internal subsidiary operating under the Microsoft Gaming umbrella. Consequently, retail and institutional investors cannot purchase shares of King as a standalone public stock in contemporary financial markets.
