Wayne Gretzky, widely celebrated as the greatest hockey player of all time, has maintained a well-documented personal and social relationship with Donald Trump that spans several decades, originating from golf outings and social circles in the 1980s and further cemented through family connections. Public visibility of their bond intensified significantly when Gretzky and his wife attended high-profile political events, including election night gatherings and presidential celebrations where he was publicly associated with political figures. While Gretzky has generally kept public political commentary minimal compared to his status on the ice, his associations and public appearances continue to reflect a close personal rapport with Trump. This relationship has occasionally sparked intense public debate and polarized reactions among fans, particularly in his native Canada, where political sentiments differ, but his underlying personal ties to Trump remain a consistent fixture of his post-retirement public life.
