Is Goodman recalling any AC units, as of 2026 Goodman has not had major recent recall for AC units, but had past recalls for furnaces and air handlers, not current AC condenser recall. Most notable Goodman recall was in 2014 for Goodman 80 percent AFUE gas furnaces manufactured from 2010 to 2014 due to potential overheating and fire hazard from faulty blower motor wiring that could cause furnace to overheat, affecting about 50,000 units, with Goodman offering free inspection and free wiring repair. Another recall in 2005 for Goodman air handlers due to electrical hazard. For AC units, Goodman has issued service bulletins for coil leaks but not formal CPSC recall, as coil leak issues are handled via warranty. As of 2026, there is no active CPSC recall for Goodman GSX14, GSXC16, or GSXC18 AC units. However, always check if your unit affected by entering model and serial number on CPSC.gov or GoodmanMfg.com/recall or calling Daikin Comfort at 1-877-254-4729. To check recall status, look at rating plate on outdoor unit for model and serial where first 4 digits indicate manufacture year and month, for example 2205 means 2022 May. If your unit has problem like refrigerant leak or electrical issue, contact installer as it may be covered under warranty, not recall. Most Goodman AC units from 2020 onward not affected by any recall. Goodman has improved quality control since Daikin acquisition in 2012, reducing defects.
