The original "Timberline HD" shingle line (without the "Z") was officially discontinued by GAF back in 2020. It was replaced entirely by the upgraded Timberline HDZ series, which introduced the revolutionary LayerLock technology designed for high-speed installation and enhanced wind performance. If your roof features older legacy Timberline HD shingles and requires a partial patch, matching the exact color tone can be challenging because the granule blends and shadow profiles transitioned during the upgrade.
