Is BELFOR a franchise?

BELFOR Property Restoration is not primarily a franchise system like SERVPRO or ServiceMaster, but rather operates as company-owned offices and through acquisitions of local restoration companies that become part of BELFOR network. BELFOR grows by acquiring established restoration companies and integrating them under BELFOR brand, maintaining corporate ownership rather than selling franchises to individual owners. However, BELFOR Holdings, parent company, does own franchise brands such as 1-800 WATER DAMAGE and other smaller franchise systems that operate as franchises. So while BELFOR Property Restoration itself is not franchise in traditional sense, its parent company operates franchise brands in restoration industry. This corporate owned model allows BELFOR to maintain consistent standards, large resources, and centralized management for handling large commercial losses. Employees work for BELFOR directly rather than for independent franchise owners. So if you are looking to own a restoration franchise, you would look at 1-800 WATER DAMAGE under BELFOR Holdings, not BELFOR Property Restoration itself, which is company-owned.
