Bahubali is not a deity in the traditional sense, but he is one of the most revered and exalted figures (Tirthankara-like venerated saints) in Jainism. Also known as Gommateshwara, he was the second son of the first Jain Tirthankara, Rishabhanatha. According to Jain tradition, Bahubali achieved supreme enlightenment and liberation (Moksha) after renouncing worldly power and engaging in deep, motionless meditation for an extended period, leading to massive monolithic statues carved in his honor across India.
