To repair a leaking pipe located inside a wall, you must first shut off the main water supply and cut an access window into the drywall using a keyhole saw. Clean the exposed pipe thoroughly. For copper pipes, cut out the leaking section and solder a new coupling or use approved push-to-connect fittings. For PEX or PVC, use crimp rings or solvent cement. Never rely on permanent tape patches inside walls. Verification: Pressure test the repaired pipe for leaks before hiring a drywall contractor to patch the wall.
