Affinity Federal Credit Union has a rich operating history spanning over 90 years. It was originally chartered in December 1935 as the W. E. Headquarters Federal Credit Union to serve the financial needs of employees at the Western Electric Company. Over the decades, through strategic name changes, mergers, and expanded fields of membership, it evolved into one of the largest credit unions headquartered in New Jersey.
