In one of the most famous private equity transactions in British real estate history, founder Jon Hunt sold Foxtons to private equity firm BC Partners in 2007 for approximately £360 million to £390 million, just prior to the onset of the global financial crisis. Subsequent financial restructuring occurred when creditors took control during the downturn before the company successfully returned to public equity markets via its 2013 London Stock Exchange flotation.
