TTP399 is an oral, liver-selective glucokinase activator (GKA) developed by vTv Therapeutics designed to target glucose metabolism. By acting specifically on glucokinase within the liver, it restores normal hepatic glucose sensing and processing in the presence of elevated blood sugar. Unlike broad-acting systemic compounds, TTP399 encourages the liver to trap glucose for energy storage and utilization while stimulating little to no unwanted insulin secretion, effectively lowering HbA1c levels while minimizing the dangerous risk of hypoglycemia and diabetic ketoacidosis.
