WildBrain officially sold its remaining equity stake in Peanuts Holdings to Sony Group Corporation, meaning it no longer holds any ownership rights to the Peanuts intellectual property. Sony increased its combined stake to a majority eighty percent ownership share, while the family of creator Charles M. Schulz retains the remaining twenty percent. Although WildBrain divested its financial stake in the property, it secured multi-year agreements to continue acting as an exclusive licensing agent in select regions and serving as the primary animation studio for upcoming Peanuts television content and feature films.
