A warranty guarantees that qualifying repairs resulting from manufacturing defects will be performed without charging for the broken parts and specialized labor. However, repairs are not always entirely free. Many warranty contracts require the owner to pay a deductible, a service call fee for a technician to visit your home, or shipping costs to transport heavy appliances. Furthermore, if the damage is caused by user abuse, neglect, or normal wear and tear, the repair is completely uncovered and must be paid out-of-pocket.
