Commercial insurance does not automatically cover every driver under the sun. Standard commercial auto policies typically require drivers to be explicitly listed on the policy, vetted through motor vehicle record (MVR) checks, and authorized by the business owner. While many policies include permissive user clauses for occasional employee driving, unauthorized drivers, individuals with terrible driving records, or operators using company vehicles for personal errands are frequently excluded from coverage.
