Yes, most CertainTeed insulation products sold for homes do contain fiberglass, and fiberglass is the core of its residential insulation line. CertainTeed Sustainable Insulation batts and rolls and InsulSafe SP blown-in insulation are all made from spun glass fibers melted from sand and recycled glass and bonded with a formaldehyde-free, plant-based binder. These are similar in composition to Owens Corning Pink and Johns Manville ComfortTherm. The glass fibers provide thermal resistance by trapping air pockets. However, not all CertainTeed insulation contains fiberglass, because CertainTeed is a large building materials company with multiple product divisions. CertainTeed also manufactures other types of insulation and building products that do not contain fiberglass. For example, CertainTeed offers rigid foam insulation boards and insulated siding, which are made from polystyrene foam, not fiberglass. It also offers MemBrain, which is a smart vapor retarder film, not insulation. In commercial and industrial divisions, CertainTeed makes fiberglass duct wrap and mechanical boards, which are fiberglass, but also makes other products. So if you buy CertainTeed insulation from the insulation aisle at Home Depot or Lowe's, it is almost certainly fiberglass. That fiberglass is certified asbestos-free, formaldehyde-free, and GREENGUARD Gold certified for low emissions. Once installed behind drywall it is inert, though it can cause temporary itching and respiratory irritation during installation if you do not wear gloves and an N95 mask.
