You cannot use R32 in cars as a direct replacement for automotive AC refrigerants like R-134a or R-1234yf, because automotive air conditioning systems are designed for different refrigerants with different pressures, safety classifications, and system components, and R32 is not approved for mobile AC use. Automotive AC systems operate at moderate pressures suitable for small compressors, rubber hoses, and condensers designed for R-134a with GWP 1430 or R-1234yf with GWP less than 1 which is now standard in new cars from 2015 onward. R32 operates at higher pressures similar to R-410A, about 50 percent higher than R-134a, requiring stronger components and steel piping, and would cause hoses to burst and compressor failure. R32 is also classified as A2L mildly flammable, and automotive safety standards for passenger compartments require specific flammability testing that R32 has not passed for car use, while R-1234yf is also mildly flammable but specifically tested and approved for cars with additional safety measures. Using R32 would void warranty, violate EPA SNAP regulations for mobile AC, and create safety risks. The correct refrigerant for your car is listed on under-hood label, typically R-134a or R-1234yf, not R32.
