Are MSI and ASUS related? No, MSI and ASUS are not related companies, they are separate Taiwanese computer hardware companies and competitors, with MSI standing for Micro-Star International founded 1986 and ASUS founded 1989, both based in Taiwan, both making motherboards, graphics cards, laptops, and gaming hardware, but independent companies with no ownership relation. MSI, Micro-Star International, founded 1986 in New Taipei Taiwan, and ASUS, ASUSTeK Computer Inc, founded 1989 in Taipei Taiwan, both started as motherboard manufacturers, both now make laptops, GPUs, and gaming products, competing in gaming market with MSI Gaming and ASUS ROG Republic of Gamers, but they are separate publicly traded companies with different founders and management. MSI founder is Joseph Hsu and others, ASUS founders include Ted Hsu and others. So MSI and ASUS not related, they are competitors, similar to Dell and HP being competitors, both Taiwanese tech companies but independent, with ASUS larger with revenue 15 billion versus MSI 5 billion, both making gaming laptops, motherboards, and components, but no corporate relation, with some people confusing because both Taiwanese and make similar products, but they are separate, competing brands in gaming laptop and motherboard market, with ASUS ROG and MSI Raider competing.
