Yes, CertainTeed shingles are considered very good quality and are one of the top three shingle brands in North America alongside GAF and Owens Corning, with a strong reputation among contractors for premium quality and rich colors. CertainTeed Landmark series, which is the flagship architectural shingle, is considered good because it is heavier than many competitors at 240 to 270 pounds per square, providing better durability, has excellent color depth and granule retention with many vibrant color options, and offers good wind resistance up to 110 to 130 mph depending on installation. CertainTeed also offers premium designer shingles like Grand Manor, Presidential Shake, and Belmont that mimic natural slate and wood shake better than most competitors and are considered among the best looking asphalt shingles available. Warranty is strong with lifetime limited warranty defined as 50 years for original owner, plus 10-year algae warranty with StreakFighter and wind warranties. CertainTeed also offers a strong contractor certification program, SELECT ShingleMaster, with up to 25-year workmanship coverage under SureStart Plus warranty. Price is competitive at 100 to 160 dollars per square for Landmark. While Owens Corning has SureNail Technology, CertainTeed is praised for heavier weight and richer appearance. For homeowners wanting premium appearance and solid durability, CertainTeed is an excellent choice.
